President Bola Tinubu has approved the “redeployment of Musa Adar as executive secretary of the Nigeria Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (NEITI).”

Adar will replace Ogbonnaya Orji, “who has served in the capacity since 2021.”

In a statement on Tuesday, Segun Imohiosen, Director of Information and Public Relations in the office of the Secretary of the Federation (OSGF), said the President “redeployed and appointed officials in two agencies.”

According to the statement, Adar “was redeployed from his position as chairman of the National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA).”

Mukhtar Shagari, who is a former minister of water resources, “was appointed to replace him as chairman of NIWA.”

The statement reads: “Both the redeployment and appointment take immediate effect.”

Commenting on the appointment, Tinubu urged the newly appointed and redeployed officials to “be patriotic.”

He also encouraged them to apply their wealth of experience in “strengthening transparency, accountability, and effective service delivery within their respective agencies.”
